Today we sent our application to name a laneway off Parliament St "Funkadelic Lane," so TO will have a Parliament-Funkadelic intersection. It's a fun and deeply meaningful way to honour iconic musicians who lived and played here ♥️🛸 RT if you think council should approve!!🙏

Met one of @cardforchange guys today & got to talk about outreach, life on the street etc. I’ll admit, my first take a couple weeks back was harsh… he may be green bc he’s never been a part of street life, but he’s earnest in his desire to help people. Give the account a follow!

We are now officially recognized as a charitable foundation in Canada. Meaning we can write donor receipts. More importantly it means now the work begins. We are going to make waves. Stay tuned…

Ok so why gift cards? Asked no one…. Yet. Gift cards to places like @TimHortons or @McDonaldsCanada or anywhere else, can’t be traded or transferred for cash. But more than that they give the card bearer the freedom and dignity of choice!
There are zero fees to purchase gift cards and we do this purely as volunteers, so 100% of all the money donated goes right on to a gift card and then directly into someone’s hands. We have been doing this for 2+ years now check our IG account to see what we’ve been up to…
Also your money is being used by our clientele to support local businesses. So you’re not only changing people’s lives through your generosity, you’re boosting your own economy at the same time. Hurts no one, benefits everyone!
