When planning robot paths it's best to identify the final pose of the process and then record the positions working backwards towards the home or pounce position. Also, don't place the fixture or tooling directly in front of the arm or in line with the base origin.

A rep from UR tried to shame us for being "FANUC" people when we asked about standard safety paradigms. I told them "no, we are industrial robot people". Not sure if he skillfully passed on the statement or just didn't understand.
