Shifting to a single transfer portal will likely result in an antritrust challenge that it restricts athlete mobility. It wasn't long ago that the NCAA lost on enforcing eligibility restrictions on multi-time transfers. Wouldn't be surprised if @mccuskeyforwv is closely watching.

@jasonmbryant Consumer interest is an important part of the legal analysis. The NCAA often argues its rules are procompetitive on the basis that without them consumer internet will die and college sports won’t exist as a separate product.

I’ve seen some claim Cody is in favor of rolling back rights college athletes have recently gained. Those people are wrong. As he makes clear here, he’s not in favor of an NCAA antitrust exemption or the SCORE Act. He wants college athletes to have a true seat at the table.

In pro sports, the league and players voluntarily sign a collective bargaining agreement with penalties for circumventing the cap. In college sports, the NCAA does not bargain with players on rules regulating the profession. Rules are unilaterally imposed. Results in litigation.
