I think it’s funny when people reveal that they think college is about learning how to be successful in a certain profession. It’s not. And if it were it would be orders of magnitude more expensive. In one way or another.

Blaming students for not being into school seems an unsustainable perspective to have for an educator. Maybe it can get one through a career but it leaves the general feeling about the educational system diminished for the rest of us.

Generally the market (of whatever, professorships, corporate jobs, customers) does a much better job at picking what it needs than professors of anything understand what almost any market needs. Grade inflation results in inefficiencies in HR… It’ll be ok.
