working on fellow's #GUpath paper edits I'm still toying where to add "see Figure X" in the Results, so for now I deleted these in the text and added trackchange comment: don't worry - we'll "figure" these out later... #academicdadjoke

@DHPathRes @carina_dehner @Greg_Charville he’s traveling, and yet he STILL managed to👀💻a challenging #GUpath #BSTpath crossover case I had emailed him about @StanfordPath #bromance (Sorry to bug you @Greg_Charville! Didn’t know you were out!)
We need to be cautious when we have higher grade nuclear features, the intracytoplasmic vacuoles may be more subtle and requires careful examination! Check this study by @CaDxPath and @Kiril_T_Can pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25025441/ #gupath #PathTwitter
Recognizing SDH-def RCC is critical because it can be associated with personal/familial history of pheo/PGL or GIST! Compact nests of bland cells w/eosinophilic cytoplasm, cytoplasmic inclusions w/eosinophilic/pale flocculent material, usually LG-nuclei. #gupath #pathTwitter
SDH-deficient RCC is another ddx for pink kidney tumors, one of the most important feature is pink intracytoplasmic vacuole. Check the image below from the presentation of Dr. Akgul& @Williamson_SR at ASCP 2023: #gupath #PathTwitter
ESC RCC shows solid/nested growth of eosinophilic cells with voluminous cytoplasm+variable size and eccentric nuclei (unlike oncocytoma!). See below for centrally condensed eosinophilic cytoplasm with variably sized basophilic intracytoplasmic inclusions. #gupath #pathTwitter
IHC profile of EVT is very distinct, shows Cathepsin K, CD117 and CD10 positivity (CatK/CD117 can be focal), and CK7 is negative or only rare scattered cells stained. #gupath #pathtwitter pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34521993/
EVT, (previously HOT), is an indolent tumor shows solid/nested growth with eosinophilic cells, multiple cytoplasmic vacuoles and round or variable nuclei with often very large nucleoli. Large thick-walled vessels (B) are found at the periphery! #gupath #pathTwitter PMID: 34521993
