⚠️This is huge. There have been 12 Never Events linked to PAs in Scotland. Scotland has *143* PAs The NHS had 407 NEs (likely mostly doctors) in a year. The UK has 376,000 docs If PA NE ratio was extrapolated to doctors that’d be 31,552 Never Events What’s coming is scary ☠️
Despite opposition from doctors, the govt is pressing ahead with regulating PAs & AAs under the GMC. @alistrathern, as my MP, please oppose the draft Anaesthesia Associates and Physician Associates Order 2024 to protect patient safety. People have already died.
