I rented Wonka last night. The fatphobia was something else. Being fat either equalled evil or being the butt of the the joke. It just makes me so tired and sad to still see this everywhere, particularly in a vehicle you know is going to reach so many young people.

Authors + other book/publishing-minded wonders, I have a young man at work who is looking for a fantasy to read - YA or adult - where the hero is a gay man and after they slay their metaphorical or literal dragon, get their happily ever after with a gay man too. Recommendations?

I stand by my Insta story 100%. Highly highly highly recommend pre-ordering this gem from @guppybooks. I laughed so hard reading this book that can also make you cry in turn. Love in apocalyptic times - what more could you want?!

Dear Octopus was beautifully uplifting last night. Dodie Smith really knows how to write family dynamics - the funny, sometimes prickly, but always loving kind. And the ending was just bubbling with hope.

Sure Expats has the vibes but if you want a great narrative and brilliant acting then I recommend Black Cake, which has just arrived on Disney+.
