From Hurricane #Imelda today. Strong winds create a streaking effect on the ocean surface. Was about 65 kts here so this is hurricane force. Eventually upgraded to Cat 2 during the mission. Should pack a decent punch to Bermuda tonight.

We did in fact find the western eyewall most active. Wind field also very unusual. Strongest sfc winds were in the SW (85 kts), while strongest FL winds were in the SE (95 kts) yet only saw 45 kts at sfc here. Very interesting results when a TC is enhanced by jet dynamics

Recon found #Humberto weaker and in the late stages of an ERC. The moat showing up on IR and outer eyewall winds dominant over the inner suggests the inner eyewall is not long for this world. We'll see if it can finish before shear starts to rise tomorrow
