Appalling decision by @PlayhouseHamOnt to cancel the Hamilton Jewish film festival. This shameful attempt to silence the voice, representation and lived experiences of the Jewish community is divisive, it is dangerous and it is blatant antisemitism. Enough.
@joemancinelli @PlayhouseHamOnt Thank you @joemancinelli for speaking up
@joemancinelli @PlayhouseHamOnt Postponed. Not cancelled. They have an obligation to keep staff and the business safe.
Thank you Joe Mancinelli, you are one of the very few voices who sees discrimination when it happens. It’s so shameful that a minority group in Canada cannot peacefully enjoy the diversity of cultural events that characterize this country, where all cultures are accepted. Isolating Jewish cultural life from others with antisemitic tactics will fire back. Limiting freedom to one group is only reflective of the antisemitic propaganda of vilifying Jews and those who wish to silence them. It’s a dark chapter in history for Canada and a shame for those silent voices who disagree with what’s occurring and don’t support this small community who only contribute to society in a positive way.
@joemancinelli @acoyne @PlayhouseHamOnt Shame @PlayhouseHamOnt. Shame.
@joemancinelli @PlayhouseHamOnt I am upset that @PlayhouseHamOnt would succumb to thuggery. This noble landmark which I frequented often in my youth when it featured Italian films has been harmed by this ignoble action.
@joemancinelli @PlayhouseHamOnt The Federation is sponsor of genocide promoting CIJA. No group needs to rent space to such odious organization
@joemancinelli @PlayhouseHamOnt Maybe the cops that us #Hamont taxpayers are on the hook for their increased budget should just protect these events - like we pay them to do! 🤷🏻♀️
