KERN-6 is still based on Ubuntu 18.04 (bionic), but work has already started on KERN-7 which will target 20.04 (focal). Please report any issues using KERN on our issue tracker. github.com/kernsuite/pack…

Finally, KERN-6 has been released! This release contains an update of all packages. Unfortunately, we had to drop most of the pulsar packages due to budget constraints, but this now means we can roll out releases much faster. kernsuite.info

It has been long overdue, but preparations for a KERN-6 release have begun! Just uploaded the new (python-)casacore 3.3 to dev and made a new CubiCal package. More to come! #debian #ubuntu #ska #astronomy github.com/ratt-ru/CubiCal

Since PGPLOT is not Open Source, it is not included in Debian main (only in "nonfree"). Also, PGPLOT is not maintained anymore. However, there is a free drop-in replacement, giza.sourceforge.net. To use it, install the "giza-dev" package.

KERN-5 is here! This release is based on Casacore 3.0 and includes all the latest and greatest radio astronomy tools like the recently released Cube Analysis and Rendering Tool for Astronomy (CARTA). Get it while it's hot! kernsuite.info

Unsure if many still using drive-casa (github.com/timstaley/driv…) (@drphilmarshall ?) but @gijzelaerr assures me there's a little interest, so here's an update on CASA 5.X: github.com/timstaley/driv…. Now handing the repo over to Gijs and co, see them for future maintenance :)

Work on KERN-4 is slowly starting. We decided to base this release on Ubuntu 18.04, since then we have access to many updated packages (like CUDA 9). Please open issues on our issue tracker if you have questions or recommendations.
