What do you get when you cross shellfish with a spider? A horseshoe crab! Horseshoe crabs are actually arachnids, more closely related to spiders and scorpions. The oldest known horseshoe crab fossil, discovered in 2008, is 445 million years old. go.whoi.edu/livingfossils
