I once thanked a nurse for running over to help resuscitate a crashing patient that wasn’t even ‘her patient’. She just looked right up at me and said “they’re all our patients.” I’ve never forgotten that.

Facing a lot of unknowns in life can be hard. But if we had all the blanks filled in, we would explain away God’s part in our story. God doesn’t want to be explained away. He wants to be invited in. He wants us to make room for His additions to our story... room for Him.

It’s not wrong to need people. God made us to have relationships. But we’re setting ourselves up for disappointment when we feel like we won’t be able to breathe unless someone else makes us feel loved. Noticed. Accepted. We can’t expect any other person to be our soul oxygen.

Don't lose heart, sweet friend. Our deepest desperation can lead to a great revelation from God. And the lessons we learn in our brokenness can help someone else feel less alone, less broken, less hopeless. He can turn our pain into purpose.

While God converts with truth, the enemy perverts the truth. God wants us transformed, but Satan wants us paralyzed. Let's ask the Lord to help us recognize when the enemy is trying to use his "not good enough" lies. We are beloved children of God.

It’s okay if it doesn’t make sense. Living biblically in our world won’t make sense. It is odd. It won’t be normal. But even if it doesn’t make sense, it makes you pure. It makes you see His holiness and reflect His light. That’s better than making sense.
