@dbrand Won't be working with dbrand until that original tweet is deleted, at least. You're allowed to make shitty jokes, but the internet has made it pretty clear what it think about this one, and the harm from it is unnecessary I've been around long enough to see a LOT of versions of this in my years. Apologies on the internet tend to come in pairs. The first apology is usually rushed, and later regretted. The second, after some time, is usually more measured and reflective. I'm definitely not asking for a second apology, but I'm definitely asking for the reflective part
Fair enough. We left the offending tweet up because we didn't want to seem like we were sweeping this situation under the rug. We recognize that our original tweet went too far and created a platform for hateful discourse. Given that we've already buried the hatchet with Bhuwan, we're good to delete the tweet and be more mindful going forward.
@latahelvete @dbrand @MKBHD They probably didn't delete it just because of Marques, but also because of all the other houndreads and thousends of people who wanted an aplogy / the post deleted. Maybe they actually feel genuinly sorry, and would have deleted it even if Marques didn't say anything
@latahelvete @dbrand @MKBHD Mkbhd shouldn’t have called for them to remove it. They apologized on it and said they would do better. It doesn’t mean you need to erase history.
@latahelvete @dbrand @MKBHD That one person recently deleted a car company on accident. Just adding some context.
@latahelvete @dbrand @MKBHD Ah, yes. The white person who couldn't understand racism. That checks out.
@latahelvete Mkbhd tweet was probably a damage control move from both..
@latahelvete @dbrand @MKBHD *The one person who could hurt their pockets
@latahelvete @dbrand @MKBHD That one person has probably 1000 times more influence to the fate of their business than your 10 times purchase
