On June 25, Steve Kanellakos awarded #OttCity's Human Needs Task Force a City Manager award for "collaboration and relationship building." This task force hosts the Unsheltered Task Force, a subgroup, with NO unhoused people at the table, that coordinates dismantling encampments.

@CAMSOttawa @ottawacity @NCC_CCN @OttawaPolice @CMckenney @tobi_nussbaum I assume these are voluntary displacements, that they were consulted and had a hand in fashioning a short and long term solution? Otherwise @ottawacity and @NCC_CCN would be contravening human rights law and the federal govts housing policy which recognizes #humanrights.

The solution is in dismantling the unnecessary bureaucracy that keeps people unhoused in #OttCity. The solution is investing in affordable housing instead of police (let's start by scrapping the $81 million South Facility, @dianedeans).
