This "Weekly Weigh In" is on electric cars
Canada recently announced a ban selling new gas and diesel powered cars starting in 2035 in an effort to improve the green economy and minimize climate change.
Do you agree or disagree that this is a good strategy for Canada?

This "Weekly Weigh In" is on Parking Rates
Recently Brampton approved a new parking plan that will annually increase parking prices in an effort to encourage people to drive less and use city transit.
Do you agree or disagree that this is a useful strategy to deter driving?
This "Weekly Weigh In" is on Elections!
What is more important when deciding which party to vote for in an election (federal or provincial)?

This Weekly Weigh In is on mortgage regulations
Do you agree or disagree that the Canadian Mortgage Charter, which is a set of rules that banks are expected to follow and apply to vulnerable borrowers, is a useful framework for homeowners when paying off their mortgage?

This "Weekly Weigh In" is on Clean Energy!
Canada has a Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit, which is a refundable 30% tax credit on investments made by taxable entities in clean energy technologies (canada.ca).
Is this a good strategy to fight climate change?
New permanent emergency shelter plus a new hybrid shelter (and other initiatives like rent relief) are part of Waterloo region's plan to end chronic homelessness.
But ... not all councillors were a fan of the plan.

"Weekly Weigh Ins" are back!
This week's focus is on the cost of living. Recently there have been discussions about removing GST from home heating to reduce the cost of living.

Great around table at the @lispop forum on Public Opinion on Housing Policy.
When looking at affordability & accessibility we must consider the building codes, & moving beyond basic accessibility features.
Accessibility policy is an ethical investment rooted in housing justice.
This "Weekly Weigh In" is about Fourplexes
Kitchener council is exploring a bylaw that allows fourplexes on residential property, instead of a max of 3.
Do you agree or disagree that fourplexes are the right solution to increase housing, or are there other options?
