According to gippity, it looks like Boeing signed a 30 year, $1B agreement with Dassault around 2017 ($33m/year). Switching is off the table for them. Imagine the impact if a few large eng orgs had a long-term view and invested some fraction of their CAD budget into FOSS alts?

Years ago, one of my closest friends returned from Burning Man with chronic psychosis. Over 3 months, he went from school teacher to homeless convict and eventually forced the police to end him. The tragedy pointed me away from the hedonistic treadmill.
