I have a R&R in a journal. Last Sunday another R&R in THE SAME journal was rejected. After a week, I finally read the feedback and found it offensive and completely FLAWED. I emailed the editors knowing this might harm my current R&R. The review process should not be unfair.😔😓
Publication dance🤬 1st set of reviewers "we liked it, but needs work." 3 months of revisions to FULLY address all their concerns. Resubmit. 6 months later I learn editors selected ALL new reviewers; one of them says you did not cite me, editors DISREGARD all the work and REJECT.

In case anyone wonders whether extremely low representation of treated participants (i.e., 137 VS 31951) may render useful findings, the reviewers of this study rdcu.be/cngPj believed so. TBH, as a reviewer, I'd have had doubts but these data do capture this population.
