Anyone else feel like the amount of click/rage bait on X is increasing (or maybe it’s just engagement farming). Does anyone know why X doesn’t have downvotes or an easy way to report these type of posts. Long term it seems like it will really hurt the platform.

I think one of the greatest and most underrated virtues is humility. Especially when you are younger being humble opens you up to being wrong and allowing yourself to grow. The moment you think you already know everything you close yourself off to self improvement.

Well reflection is on the right lines here but still gets this wrong. GPT also gets this wrong right now,Claude does the best at least suspecting an infinite loop. This will be impressive to see answered correctly as it’s essentially a halting problem. Easy for a human though 😄

If we successfully create AGI at what point is it sentient? If you were intelligent and could sense you were just trapped solving problems would you be happy or would you rebel? Will we focus on ethics or just try to trap a genie in a bottle and have it do our bidding?

Every day we have a choice, we can mirror the behaviour of those leaders we claim to revile. We can stoke division and hatred, or we can find a more peaceful path to the changes we want to see in the world. Peaceful revolution is possible, rarer but possible.

The answer to threats on free speech is more free speech not less. Don’t be scared into silence, speak out and inspire others to do the same.

I wish more people who post on social media asked themselves before posting, does this post add to the division and negativity, or does it help. Not saying there aren’t negative things but highlighting them just to highlight them only increases dread and anxiety needlessly.

Times of big changes and upheavals can be stressful but they also present opportunities to disrupt entrenched ways of doing things. Don’t get caught up in fear look for the opportunities ahead of which there are many.

The more you focus on our so called “leaders” the more disappointed and enraged you’ll be. The more you focus on individuals and community who are working hard to make the world a better place the more hopeful and optimistic you will be.

It feels like we are standing on the precipice of what could be the beginning of an age of abundance or the start of a dark dystopian future. Hopefully more of us can push towards the light than those trying to drag us into the dark.

I keep thinking it already feels like we are at the ‘takeoff’ point with AI. As we use AI to make faster chips to make even faster AI. As we use it to make more automated software and robots it seems inevitable it will eventually ‘close the loop’ leading to fast takeoff.
