Park La Brea is a gem. It's the largest renter's complex west of the Mississippi. It's probably the most walkable and bikeable place you can find in LA. People from all backgrounds live here. And I'm so happy to call it home. A 🧵 on what it's like to live here:
As its name suggests, homes surround green space. Rowhouses encircle gardens. That set up makes it easy to make friends with neighbors since we all share a yard. Some people live in apartment towers that circle larger parks with fountains and walking paths.
We're in a convenient spot! I can walk to the 720 on Wilshire, one of the best bus rapid transit lines in the city. Soon, the light rail station will open up a short walk away. And in ten minutes, I can walk to a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, CVS, and the Farmer's Market.
@mirijulip The first time I rode a bike through Park La Brea, I thought I had fallen through some sort of spacetime anomaly because it looks so similar to Park Merced in my hometown of San Francisco. I later learned they were built by the same people.
