Privacy infringements in software design are not always this obvious. I really believe it is on every individual in an organisation to think about what they are being asked to do and raise the alarm. And 'legal' need to do better.

I was blocked by twitter from trying to promote a genuinely profitable tennis tipping service, and yet a service calling itself MadoffCoin can promote a post including the words "It's not a scam like you might think" 🤔

Exceptional. Does this genius think that he can buy a subscription to a streaming service, then sublicense the music rights to other people for money? The fact that NFTs have been shoehorned into a use case where no consensus mechanism is needed isn't even the biggest issue here!

Nothing wrong with Rogan interviewing a broad range of guests, and people calling for some sort of ban are ridiculous. But what he is doing is irresponsible, purely because he isn't a good enough interviewer to deal with the breadth of their opinions nor the size of his platform.
A lot of people are dunking on this for being incoherent, but there is something really important happening here as well. Scientific nihilism - the belief that we can't truly know or understand anything, is a longtime cornerstone of bad economics and bad politics 1/7

There are good and bad arguments against the licence fee, but I do feel strongly that public dislike of the BBC / funding structure would be massively appeased if @tvlicensing didn't treat every non-subscriber like a liar and/or criminal.
I think Twitter's brevity is why it self-selects people who think all complexity is obfuscation. I mostly follow academic Twitter and constantly see "ditching jargon and gatekeeping" (and who doesn't agree with this?) by people who are actually just ignoring the complicated bits.
If Truss does make a successful bid for leader this time, please can we not go crazy about her changing from remain to leave over the last 5 years. Sure, it's a blatant populist flipflop, but Brexit apathy is shaping up to be the big underestimated factor in the next election.
@CamillaTominey Today we learned that you don’t think facts should get in the way of attacking the BBC. You start by saying so: “This might not be true but it certainly is believable”. You say Today cancelled an interview with John Redwood. Listeners heard him in our most prominent slot at 810
Already seeing people saying #LibDems winning in leave land is a sign that people are rejecting Brexit... No, it suggests we're moving beyond the point where Brexit dominates every political moment. And Johnson has nothing but Brexit.
The BBC needs to step up and understand the issues around the Human Rights Act. It’s not ‘campaigners’ who object to Raab’s proposals; it is people who understand what the Act does and why. This time ask the experts and ask them as experts.
