@mnolangray It’s truly civilized when the train is faster than a car
@mnolangray Yesssssssssss!!!!!!
@mnolangray @HBlackson What kills me are the number of Republican states & cities I’ve visited recently that have this, including Miami & Phoenix. Yet where I am in SD I think I’ll be in a nursing home before the trolley ever gets to the airport
@mnolangray A train to downtown. At night! This train runs better after 9pm headways than Muni Metro it’s astonishing. Loved UTA!
@mnolangray It’s a great airport except for the those infamous B gates
@mnolangray What on Earth are you doing in our neck of the woods?
@mnolangray There have been complaints about how the trains don't actually enter the terminal building (a planned design cut to save costs) but compared to janky shuttle buses or dragging your luggage across vast parking lots, the SLC to light rail connection is fantastic.
@mnolangray another good thing about the SLC airport is that all the rental car companies and their lots are directly connected with a 5 min walk. No need to take a shuttle. Every airport should be like that.
@mnolangray @CircleLineBT #Sydenham 🚆could be relocated 800m to be AT THE TERMINAL with covered walkways, travelators and lifts providing access for all 🙏 @BELFASTCITY_AIR @Translink_NI @TranslinkNIR @TranslinkPress @CEOTranslink_NI @belfastcc @disabilityni @nitravelnews @lighthousecomms @allianceparty
@mnolangray Cleveland was the first in the US.
@mnolangray Geneva (GVA) is the best I’ve ever seen. They have both commuter and long distance rail and takes up zero (surface) footprint because the lines are underground.
@mnolangray *where you don't have the change to get to the city's central hub
@mnolangray I go to the University of Utah We have 4 TRAX stations on campus I don’t drink alcohol but I’d just hang out
@mnolangray Oh whew, thought that was Boston, which is NOT civilized although it claims a green line as well…
@mnolangray Nothing can take away from the dreariness of SLC downtown. I'm surprised it has a big city reputation.
@mnolangray Chicago has trains to DT serving BOTH airports. Orange line / Midway and Blue Line / O’Hare. Problems with both: homeless vagrant / addict infestation late at night, also they don’t run late ENOUGH to catch late arriving flights. That being said, it’s pretty cool we have that
@mnolangray I had thought the same thought, a good transportation system has to connect to the the city airport. Unfortunately it is tucked out of the way, without a good bike storage. It was really very nice when the line re-opened from construction! And very convenient for Trax riders!
@mnolangray And with no fear for life and safety. Then you have the whole enchilada.
@mnolangray Just remember when it comes to rail we are not going forward. We are dragging one of the best things of our past into the present. Electric rail transport. We use to have it almost everywhere we need to get it back.
