Doing cake Friday every fortnight with my Y13s, students taking it in paired turns. There’s been some good efforts so far but this week’s went up another level. It was a marble cake too as they wanted the sponge patterns to integrate as we we’ve doing integration! #AlevelMaths

Y12 Integration this week. I love giving the students this activity for finding areas under a curve because of the steady build up: - Basic integral with limits. - Index manipulation with limits. - Curve but no limits. - Quartic modelling. #AlevelMaths

Last year, I had a big focus on Level 2 FM and Y12 Applied. This year, it’s Y12 Pure, beefing up resources and asking better questions. Here’s a couple covered during quadratics, with a focus on modelling, something becoming more common on new spec papers. #AlevelMaths

Level 2 FM: Differentiation (Stationary Points). Covered a lot of concepts in one here: SP's, 2nd Derivative, Inflection Points and Increasing/Decreasing Functions. Students coped very well. Got me thinking about Y12 Pure lessons for next year too. #mathschat #level2FM
