Really hammering the point home: you can't trust clocks for ordering in a distributed system, even if events happened hours or days apart, because, for example, network disruption might mean the events were not aware of each other.

C-suite and VP-level managers should kill the whole motivational speech thing at all-hands meetings. People see the bullshit. It’s a waste of time. It’s a job, not a high school football game. No one says “Shit, dude! I’m pumped! I’m gonna write even more emails now! Let’s go!!”
