A simple tip to be a better communicator and build trust: If you can't answer or do something say it and give the person an ETA when you will get back to them. The worst approach is going radio silent.

When we try to optimize for trust as a leader, we often optimize (incorrectly) for likeability. You don't build trust by buying your team lunch, or taking them to happy hour. You build trust by saying why you’re going to do smthg, and then following through on those things.

ppl think the hardest thing about working outside of HQ is isolation or loneliness but it's actually coming to terms w the fact that your giant face is on a 60-inch screen towering over everybody in the video chat and when you unmute to speak you need to apologize profusely first
