The Hinman emails help @coinbase, #ETH and @Ripple’s fair notice defense. How much it helps anyone in a courtroom is yet to be seen. But in the Court of Public Opinion and in Congress, the emails should help drive attention to how hypocritical and reckless the SEC is being.

If it wasn’t already clear, it should be now – Chair Gensler’s laughable “pro-innovation” stance (as he said today), is exactly the opposite. What this also tells me is that the SEC is throwing lawsuits at the wall and hoping they distract from the agency’s FTX debacle.

@allgaseth @Tree_of_Alpha @CryptoDiamonds The SEC themselves looked closely into Coinbase's business before giving them the greenlight for the IPO. And now they decide Coinbase was doing something illegal all along? Either the SEC was wrong in 2021 or they're wrong now, but they can't have it both ways 🤷‍♂️
