This is why I don't believe in the saying "use it or lose it" It implies that if you don't have the chance to use something, it's not worth self-studying. It's unrealistic to expect to use all technologies at work, so should we limit ourselves to only those we use there? NO.

That's true..if you have a mechanism to ensure your code has sufficient test coverage. However, if your testing structure ensures you don't miss anything (unit, functional, or integration tests), then I don't see any issues with where they are located.

I've noticed ppl often use BIGINT for primary keys. Do you really need that many rows? INT can handle ~ 2 billion, which should be enough for most cases. Using BIGINT increases database size and impacts compression, especially when used as foreign keys.
