@slipster216 @mike_acton My experience has been that people who harp on prioritizing readability over performance, write the least readable code anyway. I've never been given a concrete example in such conversations either, it's just a vague idea that gets repeated.

@cmuratori @SheriefFYI There's a wide spread mentality that whatever code is not the highest level of abstraction is always impossible to understand in a reasonable amount of time and/or includes solutions to an infinite number of edge cases therefore discouraging anyone to look into it.
