You will never guess who voted for a 1000+ page budget bill in the middle of the night with less than a few hours to read it.

@the_transit_guy I do still think a single subject requirement would do good.
@the_transit_guy I guess you'll have to pass it to see what's in it. - Nancy Pelosi
@the_transit_guy Congress has probably been doing that for 50 years. Fix it by requiring a week to read before voting on it. This is something on congress can do but they won’t.
@the_transit_guy None of them read it—their donors just slide them a sticky note on how to vote. Who needs details when you’ve got lobbyist cliff notes?
@the_transit_guy Lets be very honest with ourselves here. None of the MoFos read any of these bills. Thats why they have so many staffers. All those young kids read it and tell him talking points and yay or nay.
@the_transit_guy In fairness, Chat GPT wasn’t around back then. It seems like you could plug in the 1k bill into chat gpt and with good prompting, get a good summary and also expose areas that might be overlooked but matter a lot
@the_transit_guy Actually, I don't think this analogy works. Committee prints of sections of the bill have been available for a couple of weeks.
@the_transit_guy @samschwartz03 Imagine thinking this is only the other party trying to weasel in bills at odd hours. It's literally all of them.
@the_transit_guy This is an endemic, bipartisan problem - the establishment loves throwing a zillion ornaments on these Christmas tree bills.
@the_transit_guy Gee. Sounds like Obamacare.
@the_transit_guy Pelosi said vote for it, then you can read it.
@the_transit_guy Thats 1/3 size and they now have ai summaries which didnt exist even 6 months ago
@the_transit_guy Why are all republicans so stupid? That can’t read, and are constantly stepping on their previous stances. Embarrassing group
@the_transit_guy The bailout in 2008 that @BarackObama manipulated capitol hill into voting for?
@the_transit_guy Only 1000? That’s MUCH smaller than 2700… like 63% smaller.
@the_transit_guy The bill was first introduced in February…
@the_transit_guy Congress had 168 hours to read the one big beautiful bill. It was also public for us to read for the same amount of time….
@the_transit_guy They have had months to read them, they knew just like byu knew about Jake.
@the_transit_guy Both sides have been doing it for decades. 28th amendment needs to be single subject bills
@the_transit_guy Didn't these people have study groups in school where you split up a book between a group of friends or classmates and read different chapters and then meet up and "teach" the other people about the chapter you read? Why don't they do that? They have a shit ton of staffers right?
@the_transit_guy Never a big deal when your side does it. Hypocrite.
@the_transit_guy Going back to my point that Thomas Massie is the only honest person in congress.
@the_transit_guy Who writes the bills when they get that long, multiple teams right? Has anyone actually read it in its entirety. I thought they wanted to simplify and/or eliminate taxes. How does a 1000+ page bill that probably not a soul has read in its entirety simplify anything.
@the_transit_guy Both parties do this every year. Stop pretending this is unique to either party. And yes it's disgusting. But it's also hypocritical.
@the_transit_guy The corruption is a feature, not a bug. How else are you going to enrich yourself without stuffing billions of dollars into slush funds? You have to buy policy, and I mean that literally. You can call it a donation, but it's really a bribe.
@the_transit_guy Dude, according to Pelosi they have to pass the bill to know what's in the bill. This shit started with Obamacare and continues with you clowns
@the_transit_guy 2700 pages in less than 12 hours is a clear cut sign that they were trying to push some hidden nonsense through. That should have been an easy NO from everyone. Anyone who voted to pass it without reading it, is an idiot. It’s that simple.
@the_transit_guy @CollectorOfRats that’s what overworked college interns are for
@the_transit_guy Fuck you - it’s less than half the size. You don’t call that improvement?
@the_transit_guy Should be really easy to read now with Ai. It can process the whole thing and you can ask any questions you want about it
@the_transit_guy Everyone, everyone always does this every single bill
