Tried to chat with him this morning, seems it's not the best idea to bring it up. I'll just stay in my lane for now. I must say, though, that apart from the very physical job, this is quite a peaceful, basic existence. I'm really getting used to my evening walks through town.

Some of the guards came by today and collected a whole bunch of the swords. The blacksmith didn't seem to be happy about the deal. It seems like he's making it for them, but they aren't paying him very well for it. He remained upset most of the day.

I took a chance today and tried to ask the guard about the area in the center of town. That was not a good idea; I got a solid shove, and he readied his hand on his sword. Maybe I'll just let this one go for now. Tonight is rabbit stew! Can't wait!

My beard is growing long now, and the physical work is exhausting, but I'm getting settled into this routine now. I walk past the guarded area in the evenings; I want to know what goes on there. It's a whole section of the town, but only certain people are allowed in.

Trying to learn a bit of the language, it feels like English, but a very strange form of it. Every time I try speaking to someone I draw quite a lot of attention though, which makes me uncomfortable. Found a massive area in the center of town, but there are guards all around it.

Seem to be building a bit of a routine now, helping out during the day and being able to walk the town after. There's a very peaceful pace of life here; everyone seems relaxed and calm going about their day. I started drawing up a map of the village; maybe it will come in handy.

Second day of helping out, I'm exhausted, he seems much more friendly and welcoming, doesn't talk much, even though I try. It seems like he's really busy making swords; that might be why he needed the extra help. At least I managed to charge my phone on the roof during the day.

He woke me up early in the morning; he's a local blacksmith. My task was to keep the fires going, so I pretty much spent the whole day shoveling coal and stoking fires. But it's food and rest. He didn't say much but seemed very busy. I guess I can keep this going for a few days.

Went back to the stranger today. He introduced me to another man, who took me to what I assumed was his house. Gave me a bed and food! From what I could make out, he gestured that I should rest up and we'd go do something in the morning. He looks like a kind person. Let's see...

Took a long walk through the town today. Lots of narrow passes leading to some strange places. Could even find some food scraps left out. I managed to engage in a sort of hand gesture conversation with a stranger; it seems like he can help me with a job tomorrow.

Another night sleeping in the forest. I'm starting to get used to everything crawling over me. I hope these posts are reaching someone. I still have no idea how my phone could still be sending this and how lucky I am to have the solar charger. I'll go explore town again tomorrow.

Went to some stables again, but they made it very clear they didn't need help. Seems people here are more wary of strangers. However, they did give me some food, so I have enough for a day or two at least. I just wish I could sleep in a comfy bed again with a roof over my head.

I walked into the town today; it's really big and seems like the people are less interested in me here. Nothing seems out of place. I'm low on food and supplies again, so maybe I should look for a small job. It's just the language that bothers me. I need to make a plan.

I watched the town for most of the day; nothing really strange happened, just people coming and going. Here and there, I saw the guards talking to people, but it seemed like casual chatter. I'll stay one more night and keep observing.

Wow! I found a huge town; there are even some large stone buildings in the centre, a few stories high. There appear to be guards walking around, all dressed in the same type of red and black uniform. I’m going to stay outside for a few days and observe what’s going on.

I'm getting far fewer looks from people I pass on the road. People seem more relaxed the further I get from the burnt-out village. Hope there's something promising down the road. Still dare not speak to anyone. These roads are very isolated, anyone can do you harm if they wish.

Spent the last day near the village. My belly is full, my energy levels are higher, and I feel less conspicuous thanks to my newly found clothes. I’ll leave tomorrow in the direction the travellers went. Guess there's no other option.

I saw a few travellers come into the burnt-out village today. They also seemed to be looking for anything useful. They definitely saw my tracks in the dirt and nervously started looking around. I wanted to go talk to them, but they left in a hurry. Maybe I should do the same.

I'm still staying near the village. I can't believe I'm in a different time! And based on the complexity of the machine I built, I really doubt I'm ever going back. But what about that man with the smartwatch? I haven't forgotten about him.

I wonder if any of these messages are getting through. I haven’t received any replies yet, so I doubt it. Maybe it’s just something to keep me sane for now. I hope someone can read them one day and see what happened here.
