This is crucial: inflation returning to a normal 2% is good news. But prices are stabilising at a much higher level compared to a few years ago. Food prices still c24% higher than 2022, energy price cap in July still 50% higher than 2020. For those on the lowest incomes...1/3

Dangerous cycling laws sound reasonable, but it is an incredibly strange use of Government time and resource given how rare it’ll need to be used. Every death is tragic but to put it into perspective, on average each year, more pedestrians are killed by cows than by cyclists.

My favourite three outcomes of these elections: 1: there has not been a successful anti ULEZ campaign. Would have been terrible for environmental policy, just as the Uxbridge result was (for both parties). Imagine what bad advice Sunak would be getting had Hall come close 1/
