But but carbon pricing!
@tylermeredith More gaslighting the public where food prices are permanently higher, and still rising just at a slower pace.
@tylermeredith The carbon price increase didn't happen until April 1. Prior to that it had already increased inflation because it's a fixed value. That's not a good thing given how high inflation has been over the last few years. It's being clouded over time because it's a YoY measure.
@tylermeredith A bit disingenuous no, because the increase took effect in April?
@tylermeredith Imagine the additional relief (lower price) with no carbon tax. Don't forget it's a 1.9% increase from the previous month. It is not real pricing relief.
@tylermeredith You must be sitting pretty. After grocery shopping for necessities yesterday at one of only two grocery stores in town, I retraced my steps and put back several items. We are not poor. I don't know what poor people do.
@tylermeredith How is it impossible to imagine that without carbon tax prices would be less? Also please realize that 1) The price of food has remained virtually the same for the last four months. 2) The additional increase in carbon tax has not kicked in yet.
