Water torture decline similar to those last year. $SPX refusing to break the streak.
Return of short vol? Mebbe, but why is spot $VIX still north of the futures? Less rare than you might think. Going all the way back (2004), $VIX > $VX30 just about 1 day out of 5. No surprise that they come in bunches. 44 in a row for COVID 2020. 63 of 65 the back half of 2008.
April $VX contract is gone. Futures in contango but the normal premium of $VX futures to spot $VIX ain't there. Maybe @NoelConvex is correct that vol is cheap.
What are we blaming for this fainting spell?
Another reminder that the April $VX contract expires tomorrow morning. Also note that the May contract currently believes that spot $VIX is on an acid trip.

Now it's just a joke so don't get all offended non-USA peeps: I just picked up my Norwegian Krone and Euros at the bank and my daughter says, "how much is that in real money?" That was my father's old joke. His spirit (and bad jokes!) live on!
