I was talking to a leader who's been struggling to manage out a team member, and was reminded of this: Sometimes, there is just a fundamental misalignment between the employee <> the job. If you, as a manager, keep trying to make it work, you just end up gaslighting yourself.

The surest signs of an insecure manager: - measures performance by hours spent at desk - throws people under the 🚌 like nobody’s business - direct reports, other leaders, vendors, etc. - never says "I don't know" 🤔 What else?

sharing a #buildinpublic moment! i hate doing sales for @startupbootcmp 😛 there's no shortage of people who want to enroll, but a big hurdle is budget approval. and yet?? when we actually coach people through it, success rate is >90%! really validates our value + momentum 🚀

After having done countless interviews both for FAANG companies & my own startup, one thing that holds true is that "senior" doesn't automatically translate to "can problem-solve well". After 100+ interviews in my career, I know now that Impressive resume != Can code well

Reminder to all Hiring Mangers: Recruiters do not exist to “assist” you. They do not report to you. They have an entirely different job/skill set/career. If you can't understand this and see Recruiters as below you, you only hurt yourself/the potential for a true partnership.

Today I interviewed people for a new role. In advance, every candidate was sent the questions. I’ve never been more impressed. It made a huge difference and really enabled more thoughtful and thorough answers. It also minimised anxiety which enabled people to shine.
