One common theme from this season in the PL has been DM dropping back with CBs to form a back 3 in buildup. Rodri, Caicedo and Gravenberch. Also, as a consequence perhaps, flying fullbacks are back this season.

The way Trev was treated but he came back and is a key part of the team now. It's really harsh, and can't expect Nico to do the same, but I hope somewhere things can work out this time without getting too messy.

The way the new ownership has treated - Ziyech, Xavi, and now Jackson. Doesn't go well. You could have money to splash, but respect and trust is something in the grand scheme of things, even outside football.

I'll say it - VAR ruling out the goal does seem controversial. You could say where does his foot go, it has to land somewhere, but a foul in the build up to a goal is a disallowed goal, no? Just like a handball (slightest, intentional or not) is ruled out as well.

Have to remember that we had a B team for cups + UECL last season, which we can't do in CL. Also, we had an unprecedented long season with almost no preseason, the players need to be rotated. We need solid backups and having the squad options not resolved till last day ain't it.

Wouldn't worry too much about Hato and Gittens. They look off pace cos they are. Didn't have a proper pre-season with their former clubs nor with us. Full match fitness and playing with the new teammates and we should be okay. Same with Xavi if he's here, but Garnacho though..

Delap doing the basics right- holding up play, dragging out defenders wide, bringing other attackers into play. The goals will come soon. Solid performance from him.
