This is not where Jetbrains is behind lol. They have the Junie coding agent and AI assistant for the "AI chat" functionality. Both work very well. Where they are behind is the inline completion functionality. Daily programming in Cursor is very comfortable due to the fantastic Cursor Tab feature. Jetbrains have their own implementation but it's too slow and the suggestions aren't as good as in Cursor.
