Since I was a teenager I experienced some degree of tooth sensitivity from poor nutrition and drug use Literally the ONLY thing that's fully reversed this has been nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste At this point my tooth sensitivity is completely gone
If the doctors are unhappy and the patients are unhappy this means one of two things: 1) someone is lying 2) there’s a middle man laughing all the way to the bank Guess which one it is?

Exciting things happening at @BetterBiom 2024 is shaping up to be the year of data. If you want to show the world fluoride-free toothpaste can be effective, data is the only way to do it. It's expensive/exhausting/demanding but I feel good. Anyway, we updated the box design:
Pretty good overview for basic oral hygiene maintenance from Bryan. I’ve always felt that his routine is in the 99th percentile of average people, but if he wanted to up his game there are a few things I’d add that would be more consistent with his mission. - Salivary…

There are many posts just like this and here’s why: 1) everything is cheaper in developing countries, across all sectors. Build a 10,000 sq ft house in the Philippines versus US and you’ll find a similar relative difference. I know this is a difficult concept to grasp, but…

If you have jaw pain or bite issues it’s very likely that it’s affecting your entire center of gravity Unstable joint > muscular imbalance > displacement of cervical spine > altered trigeminal nerve afferents > postural change > negative effect on posture and balance
Zack D is earning his spot on my naughty list. These videos provide misleading half-truths. I’ve never seen or heard of someone using gold crowns on dental implants. Don’t get me wrong, gold is an amazing material but not when you’ve lost the tooth.

Vitamin K is extremely important, as Chris demonstrates. I am less confident in the mechanism because there is a lot that we don’t have a grasp on. Local effects of salivary buffering is undeniable but only part of the story in my opinion.

Calcium citrate has a lower density, but higher solubility in water (and by extension, likely moreso in saliva). Calcium carbonate (what egg shells are primarily made up of) has a higher density, but lower solubility in water.

Any idea which mineral the lemon is pulling from the eggshell? Citric acid softens your teeth in a very similar way on a chemical level.

There’s a small but substantial amount of people that qualify for a veneer-style transformation without any of the headache. Spring aligner + laser recontouring + whitening strips ~$1,500 and takes about a month. Not sure why more dentists don’t employ this strategy.
Smoking causes vasoconstriction in the mouth and can provide a false sense of gum health. “My gums don’t bleed!” Yes, but that’s because blood flow is dialed down. Usually when smokers quit, their gums bleed like a faucet for the first few weeks until they normalize.

Hat tip to everyone who is striving to be forward center of mass, building things, giving to the world and striving to be better. It takes guts and focus. Keep going. The rest is noise.
I don’t deny the benefits of vitamins and its role in oral health but 2 weeks isn’t enough to gauge an improvement. Also you can’t “feel” remineralization

I'm always asked about nicotine and oral health with the rise of non-tobacco nicotine delivery methods (Zyn, ecigarettes). A new systematic review came out showing that most nicotine products cause peri-implantitis which is inflammation and tissue destruction around dental…
