Study links air quality improvements to fewer school COVID cases The study took place at a school that serves vulnerable students in a setting where air quality improvements were made and then monitored. ow.ly/CbVs50R8OTw
@CIDRAP Our school’s covid cases dropped significantly the week after kids stopped wearing masks.
@CIDRAP "There was a statistically significant correlation between rooms with CO2 levels ≥1,000 ppm and SARS-CoV-2 cases in an IDD school. Rooms served by HVAC systems with in-line MERV-13 filters had a lower incidence of SARS-CoV-2-positive PCR tests"
@CIDRAP @tryna_do_rite How many more studies do we need as it’s also common sense?
@CIDRAP Cool. In 50 years when all schools have upgraded ventilation this will be a great thing …
@CIDRAP 💯COVID teaches us: there isn’t one single magic solution that will prevent all infection from all viruses. Rather, a combination of approaches is most effective, including masking, vaccination, ventilation, and air filtration.’ @martinzand1 @EurekAlert eurekalert.org/news-releases/…
@CIDRAP Not really: “97% of rooms had an estimated ACH ≤4.0” - in a school full of clinically vulnerable kids!! That’s way too low. The researchers left the kids in that unsafe situation for a year, watched them get COVID and did nothing to protect them. Why applaud unethical research?
@CIDRAP If they wanted to study it properly they could compare Victoria to NSW.
