However it shakes out, this LK99 saga illustrates the importance of arXiv. At a journal, it might have been desk rejected based on vibes, never to see a referee's inbox. Presently, it is receiving more expert scrutiny than recent fraud that survived the gauntlet of peer review.

Python coding is weird. Install twitter on my phone? needs my fingerprint, secret code, credit card, and like 5 logins. Install a thing to make a rotating, flashing 3D 20 dimensional chart? "Just type 'import chart_thing', it's already in python just in case you need it."

I'm so tired of waiting. Even bad news would be welcome at this point rather than uncertainty. Could SCOTUS issue a ruling on George RR Martin? Literally anything would be welcome, from "He has to release what he has so far" to "He is barred from writing ever again."

This led to a bunch of states cutting taxes that used to go to subsidize tuition. Fiscal conservatives saw student bodies growing and feared the cost. Social conservatives saw more people of color going to schools and started attacking the whole idea of college as a dog whistle.
