Basically disabled Canadians have been waiting 4 years for the Canada Disability Benefit and it's only going to amount to 200$/month in 2025. So now many have lost hope and are considering MAID (euthanasia). It feels like this was the government's plan all along.
Today’s budget announcement of $200/ month for the Canada Disability Benefit makes clear yet again how the Feds feel about disabled people. CERB was $2000/month with no questions asked but for disabled people unable to work -$200?!! And you must have the DTC? Absolute disgrace.
So the liberals budgeted MILLIONS to STUDY the Canada disability benefit for a decade and do consultations only to decide that $200/mo going out to less than half of all PWD would be sufficient enough to lift them out of poverty!?

I feel @liberal_party doesn't want to spend the billions per year needed for the CDB. I also feel they haven't successfully negotiated with provincial governments & had to go with the lowest amount that wouldn't/couldn't be clawed back by provincial social assistance programs
the ontario government spends $5.7 Billion/year on ODSP. but $1.017 Billion/Year is supposed to be enough at the federal level? you cannot make it make sense. you just can't. we are being fucked over big time and to take it lying down would be about as nonsensical as the CDB.
@LockerheadNews I believe they at one point said it would be a $32B benefit, which is more in line with the $1400/mo they were using as the figure in the engagement process.
