Breastfeeding benefit goes far beyond being nature's perfect food for babies' growth and development. It has crucial benefits for the health and well-being of mothers too. Breastfeeding enables mothers to live a healthy life after child birth and comfortably embrace motherhood.
During crisis, children suffer first & most from violence, the risks children face in crises are both predictable and preventable. Timely child protection interventions are essential to save their lives & prevent long-term harm by reducing risks & strengthening protective factors
Nearly 250 million children in crisis lack access to quality learning. We urge all concerned parties and the international community to urgently scale up support for education in emergencies which is key to building a sustainable future for all children.
Plan International is committed to providing quality and inclusive education to over 200,000 boys and girls in South Sudan. Education is a fundamental right that no child should be denied.

Around the world, girls’ and women’s rights are increasingly under threat with anti-rights groups playing politics with girls’ and women’s bodies. It’s got to stop🛑. This #IWD2025, we’re calling on governments to take urgent action and #AccelerateAction towards #GenderEquality.
This #IWD2025, the #FutureGirlsWant is one where all girls and women have control over their bodies and realise the full extent of their sexual and reproductive health and rights 💪🏽.
"I joined a 10 months practical life skills training at the girl’s friendly space in Yei. I learned how to design and stitch beads into bags which I sell at 150,000ssp each. I use the earnings to take care of my personal needs and pay my school fees." says Susan (18)
According to 2023 data by #UNICEF, the number of girls married in childhood stands at 12 million per year. As Plan international, we continue to work towards an end to child marriage and for adolescent girls to have an opportunity and confidence to reach their full potential.
Education in Emergencies remains a lifeline and a very important tool in helping young girls and children to be resilient. Equipping the young people with an education offers them a chance to a better life and to impact sustainable change. #InternationalDayOfEducation
On 13th and 14th December 2024, Plan International in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports organized a leadership skills training. This saw 50 youth from the national Youth Union participate and get equipped with transformational leadership skills.
