The long term emotional recovery from this has been incredibly hard, not sure it’s something I will ever feel fully recovered from. But I can’t believe it was a year ago now, and that this year I start my med school finals tomorrow!

Cannot begin to describe the relief that my pre allocation application for foundation doctor jobs when I graduate was accepted. So I’ll be staying in London for the next 2 years and I’m not going to get flung across the country and have to change all my medical care 😅

Got presented with my award for being the highest scoring student in drug management questions in my 4th year exams last night. Still can’t quite believe I won a medical school prize 🥹

Genuinely incredibly shocked to have won an award for being the highest scorer in pharmacology questions for my 4th year exams, that I took 2.5 months after nearly dying and needing emergency surgery. I thought I was awful at pharmacology, apparently not 😂

3 months ago I had a major haemorrhage, lost over half my blood volume & nearly died. But somehow I’ve managed to pass my 4th year exams, can’t believe I’m now a final year medical student 🥹

Far too many of us get judged because we look too healthy or not sick enough. You’re don’t look sick enough to be in that much pain & distress. But invisible illnesses don’t work like that. We can’t assume we know how someone feels on the inside.
