I think some people need to trust they explained their thought well enough the first time. No need to reiterate it in weaker terms, let your conversation partner think for a second and ask a clarifying question.

One time I was in byrd & barrel and played some abrasive animal collective song on the touch tunes. And they must have had their stereo routed in a weird way because it came on like 4x louder than what was playing before and it took them like 2 minutes to figure out how to fix it

I'm very lucky to have made some amazing friends and found a great irl community the last year or so. I have two regular weekly events, totally different, that are "like church". If you need an antidote to federal/world politics, consider looking locally
