Tomorrow, Joanna Kubiak from @consollab will present preliminary findings from a study on autism/ADHD traits and everyday memory (Poster #48). She’s also interested in the influence of these traits on awake consolidation. Looking forward to more conversations! #ESCOP2025
Great first day at #ESCOP2025 🙌 It was really valuable to share early findings from an ongoing study exploring the effect of rest and exercise on consolidation and have thoughtful discussions about the outcomes. The project OSF site is available here 👉 osf.io/sdy3g/

The findings showed that people remembered more words when learning was followed by running than walking. These results suggest that vigorous activity may enhance the strength of new memories, offering promising insights into the link between exercise and our thinking skills 📚💪
In the study, we explored how exercise intensity affects memory. Endurance runners learned word lists and then engaged in high-intensity exercise (running) or low-intensity exercise (walking). Our goal was to understand if physical activity helps us to retain new memories 🧠🏃♂️
New paper from our team available now in @PLOSONE : “Higher intensity exercise after encoding is more conducive to episodic memory consolidation than lower intensity exercise: a field study in endurance runners”
