I think it’s time for me to tell my full story. It might lose me some followers but so be it.
I’d like to clarify a few things. 1. What I did was bad, really bad. I deserved the time I got. It’s really hard for me to provide a blow by blow of what happened. Just please take my word, I got what I deserved.
2. I appreciate all of the kind words more than you can know. But I’m not a “hero”, or “courageous”...I’m an idiot. I should be a counter point...and example of what NOT to do.
@denvercoder Thank you for sharing such a real, but positive story. God has blessed you.
@denvercoder Thank you for your story. I won’t be specific but there was a detail in your story that I really needed to hear and it has helped. Thanks so much.
@denvercoder Interesting story, thanks for sharing. Have you reached out to the person or people involved in the initial fight that got you sentenced?
@denvercoder You did your time. That's enough. It should be for many other felons as well. It should be enough that they paid their debt and they should be allowed to participate fully in society.
@denvercoder You should not have just walked off Home Depot job. You were also lucky you have a skill much needed. I work with many who are last hired first fired and are still stuck in halfway houses. Or shelters. Can’t get a job.
@denvercoder You did what you did and served your time. It's the past now. Don't look back you are not that person anymore. You've move on. look forward and a positive future
@denvercoder Can I ask, do you believe in prison providing rehabilitation and how did you not become a worse person from being in prison? (in fact it appears you became a better person)
@denvercoder I am so happy for you. There are others like you. Reach out and give them hope. They need someone like you in their lives.
@denvercoder Well done for turning your life around. Alcohol is far too accepted & we pretty much encourage people to get rat arse in fact congratulate them & measure how good a night they've had by how ill they are the next night.
@denvercoder Great work Tim...our stories match.. I am mechanical engineer who learned coding while working as quality engineer job at caterpillar in my spare time.. used to go library every Saturday Sunday to practice , can’t study at home coz of kids or study at late night
@denvercoder This right here is what I believe is the biggest takeaway from your story. Taking responsibility for your actions is what separates you from the majority of the people in similar situations. Most people are far more likely to lay the blame somewhere else and never more past it.
