I think it’s time for me to tell my full story. It might lose me some followers but so be it.
I’d like to clarify a few things. 1. What I did was bad, really bad. I deserved the time I got. It’s really hard for me to provide a blow by blow of what happened. Just please take my word, I got what I deserved.
2. I appreciate all of the kind words more than you can know. But I’m not a “hero”, or “courageous”...I’m an idiot. I should be a counter point...and example of what NOT to do.
3. My ONLY motivation for this post was to maybe help someone in a similar situation. If I knew it would grow this big I probably wouldn’t have posted it.
@denvercoder There are millions of people who have made dumb choices. I am glad that hard work helped you move forward and I appreciate your willingness to help others.
@denvercoder You may have been an "idiot" before prison, but working hard to better your life, appreciating your wife's support & acknowledging that you haven't done this alone, and paying it forward by helping others suggests to me that that label no longer applies. Kudos 👏👏👏
@denvercoder What NOT to do, followed by above and beyond what TO do. Pride of accomplishment cannot be given, it can only be earned. Thank you for helping those in ways only fellow travelers can. God bless you for sharing your story. : )
@denvercoder In order to keep what you have going, it’s time to start loving yourself. Appreciate how far you’ve come. You already did the time. In order to love your family you have to love yourself first! At midnight tomorrow forgive yourself and move on! Best of luck.
@denvercoder You were a villain. Now you’re a hero. Heroes like Superman are great for stories - born with powers and never falter. But to stop a downward spiral and reverse it. That’s real impressive.
@denvercoder Dude, whatever you may think of yourself, know that somewhere out there, you DID touch the life of someone going through something like what you had to go through. It will keep him or her on your path. Thank you for your inspiration. Be well!
@denvercoder Disagree on courageous. If I had the setbacks you describe I don't know where I would find the motivation to move ahead and improve my life. You are strong.
