Can someone explain why, when our health system is collapsing & cases will rise in the fall/winter, the Ontario government has decided to remove the mandatory 5-day COVID isolation rule? People will suffer due to this decision...Especially vulnerable immunocompromised people.

Schlegel Villages, a for-profit LTC company, had horrific outbreaks during #COVID19, resulting in > 200 deaths. Today, the Ontario Government rewarded them with a license for a new 640 bed LTC facility. If that doesn't tell you that the system is broken, I don't know what will.

Alberta is facing the worst public health crisis in its history. ICUs are barely surviving in part bc many Covid-19 patients who are admitted, are not. Mere weeks ago, the message was it's time to "learn to live with the virus". Let that sink in.

Ok. A different tack. Can someone ask O'Toole to clarify for Canadians which of his candidates wouldn't qualify to be health minister. That a candidate can be unvaccinated & out shaking hands with folks, knocking doors, at packed debates is not only absurd but unsafe.
