Amazing lake-enhanced event to wrap up our @NSF field project! Several lightning flashes over lake, KTYX and @DOWFacility radars, and wind turbines! The Grand Finale! It is a dream come true to do this with all involved, especially 22 awesome @sunyoswego undergraduates!
Last IOP success!! Launched EFM within 6 minutes of thundersnow from the Oswego County fairgrounds. What a night!

Sounding from Oswego 7 pm tonight about 60 km south of plenty of lightning (thundersnow) near Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Our LMA detected many of the flashes from this elevated convection likely hitting wind turbines in area. @NWSBUFFALO
Special launch tonight! GLM has captured a prolific amount of lightning in Canada which was picked up on the LMAs we have in NY. This is from a synoptic scale system. Nice thundersnow case to compare to lake-effect!
