Defaults in Fitch’s Private Monitored Ratings. Spicy. “Highest default rate…since tracking began in 2017.” Note includes interest deferrals, cash to PIK and maturity extensions under stress.
I spoke to a large PE secondary fund manager. Does essentially no real due diligence on the accuracy of the marks. Only discount to NAV of “good managers”. Never seen a job for analysts looking at underlying of PC back leverage or LP loans. Running blind in a few areas.
