The Vandalia Health CAMC Vascular Surgery Residency and Fellowship invites medical students, residents, fellows, physicians and health care professionals to attend its Open Vascular and Endovascular Simulation Event from 7 - 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.
Our team recently participated in a below-knee popliteal to dorsalis pedis bypass using an autogenous vein. We are restoring distal flow and achieving limb salvage, one anastomosis at a time!
On Graduate Medical Education Professionals Day, we recognize Nicole Mata for her outstanding work as program coordinator for our Vascular Surgery Residency and Fellowship!
Mark your calendar! The Vandalia Health CAMC Vascular Surgery Residency and Fellowship invites medical students, residents, fellows, physicians and health care professionals to attend its Open Vascular and Endovascular Simulation Event from 7 - 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.
Congratulations to Christina Veith, DO, and Suy sen Hung Fong, MD, on their graduation! We are grateful to have these outstanding surgeons come from our program.
We also congratulate Catherine Go, MD, on being named Faculty of the Year. We appreciate all that she does for us.
Catherine Go, MD, and our Vascular Surgery trainees performed Vandalia Health CAMC’s first case using the new Artix thrombectomy device for acute limb ischemia! The device was used to treat an embolus that blocked flow in the distal superficial femoral artery.
At the Vascular Annual Meeting, Ali AbuRahma, MD; Zachary AbuRahma, DO, RPVI; and Catherine Go, MD, gave wonderful presentations! We also reconnected with former medical students (including Lizzie, now an integrated vascular resident) and former Chief Resident Adrian Santini, MD!
Vascular Surgery Resident Robert Cragon, MD, presented on "VQI Documentation and Queries Sent to the Vascular Department" at the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine's Quality Improvement Symposium. The presentation showed our work on improving quality and patient safety.
Mohammad Eslami, MD, MPH, was honored to speak at the Pennsylvania Hospital Vascular Symposium, presenting "Should Carotid Screening be Performed Before CABG and is Concomitant Prophylactic CEA Indicated in 2025?" We’re proud to see Dr. Eslami sharing some of his knowledge!
Our Vascular Surgery trainees took a well-earned break from the OR and traded scrubs for strategy. Teamwork, problem-solving and many laughs made our escape room wellness day a success. It was a great reminder that resilience and wellness are just as vital as surgical skill!
We are thrilled to share that our incredible chief resident, Christina Veith, DO, got engaged! Her dedication, leadership and passion for vascular surgery are matched only by the joy she brings to those around her.
Please join us in celebrating this new chapter in her life!
Our team had an incredible time at the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery conference! We learned so much and got to explore the vibrant city of Austin along the way. We are grateful for the knowledge gained, the amazing people we met and our adventures in this beautiful city!
We are excited to announce that Amanda Croft-deHagen from Michigan State University will begin the Vascular Surgery Residency Program in July! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish.
Here's to a bright future filled with learning, growth and success!
Today, the Vascular Surgery Department is excited to celebrate our residents' and fellows' extraordinary commitment, compassion and effort. Hear from Program Director Shadi Abu-Halimah, MD, FACS, as he expresses his appreciation.
