Sometimes the best lesson you can teach your pupils isn't on the curriculum. Today I will be discussing the historical importance @KamalaHarris becoming the Vice President-elect, what it means for them and dancing around the classroom to 'oh happy days'. Trig can wait a day.

As research for my #equalclassroom project I am reading this by @year6missNW and @Ask_Mr_McGill. I have really enjoyed the first section on the history of education which has helped me understand the origins of the belief that girls aren't as good at STEM as boys. #girlsinSTEM

I found it interesting that @AdamRutherford highlighted the lack of women at doctorate and professor level in all areas of STEM. This is not a potential career path I ever discuss with pupils, however it will be moving forward! Interview at 20min bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…

I really enjoyed listening to this interview with @doubleXXeconomy, particularly her comments on women in STEM. She highlighted that women dominate fields in biological sciences, biomed and psychology. She also discussed the science of gender inequality bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…
